From the recording Knockin' On Heaven's Door

This demo version of 'Knockin' On Heaven's Door' was produced by Mike Pritchard back in 2003.

i wrote a third verse for this.

Inspired to create a ‘U2 version’ after hearing Bob Dylan say something to the effect that Edge’s guitar playing had ‘too many notes’ … so i took the liberty of putting too many notes and adding extra word in my version.
Mr. Zimmerman’s version is my favourite. The texture of his voice in his version, and in ‘Lay, Lady Lay’ are so unique for him.
I still like my embellished version here better than Asshole Rose’s version with GnR.
Again, my opinion.

Lyrics

"Knockin' On Heaven's Door"
(from "Pat Garrett & Billy The Kid" soundtrack)

Mama, take this badge off of me
I can't use it anymore
It's gettin' dark, too dark to see
I feel I'm knockin' on heaven's door

Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door

Mama, put my guns in the ground
I can't shoot them anymore
That long black cloud is comin' down
I feel I'm knockin' on heaven's door

Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
